| Life just seems to be passing by so quickly lately. It seems like just last week I was enjoying the beginning of summer and now here I am in my dorm doing homework until 2 a.m. I have to admit that I love it here. I can't wait to see how God uses IWU in my life to build me up and prepare me as I begin to pursue my career as a missionary teacher. I do however, miss home greatly! I MISS ALEXANDER SO VERY MUCH!!!!! I can't help but think of how precious my last few weeks of summer were. My strongest and greatest memory of those last few weeks were the very last two days I was home. The memories of getting lost on the way to the beach, missing the movie, playing in the sand, clay fights, running up the dunes, smiles, swimming, laughter, turtles, walks, dances, and kisses are some things that will never leave me. Whenever I think about home, that is all the pops into my head...the time I spent with my boy. I miss him, thats basically what it comes down to, but I do know that no matter how many miles away I am from him, I know he still cares for/about me. I love him so very much and I know that he is aware of that. I can 't wait for him to come and visit in a couple of weeks! :) I'm so super excited! College however, is tons of fun. I love my unit! (The girls that live on my half of the second level in the dorm) We all get along great and we spend every waking moment with each other. My roommate, Lana is such a blessing to have with me. She is fantastic. We are a lot alike in many of the same ways. Its nice that her boyfriend is back at home too cause then we can help each other through some rough patches and it allows us to have more fun here together. | Something I have learned lately, is that life is full of adventures. Right now, I've begun to learn more about the types of adventures we have in life. Life seems to be taking me for a number of adventures lately. First, I've entered this journey of independence. Which I am totally loving, yet at the same time can be rather scary. I love the idea of being able to run my own life and make my own decisions. Second, I have had numerous encounters with new people, all of which bring different views on life and other topics. They have challenged me and have forced me to think deeper into things instead of just looking at the surface. Not only have I recently been greeted by new people, I have also had the pleasure of renewing old friendships and relationships. Its always a good feeling when problems are solved. The third adventure I seem to be taking, is the greatest adventure of them all...LOVE! I have enjoyed this adventure the most. It seems to be the funnest of them all, filled with laughter, smiles and amazing memories that will last me an eternity! I'm super excited to see where this adventure takes me as I continue this journey known as life. :) ich liebe du alex!

| Many of you know that I was involved in the queen competition for the Elkhart Country 4H Fair. Well that took place last Friday and I was not chosen for Queen. But its okay, I met a lot of girls and it was a great learning experience. I look forward to possibly doing it again next year as, Miss Summit Ridge Automotive. :) Hopefully, my daddy will sponsor me. Anyway, I now have a job. I'm working at Bath and Body Works on 33. I start orientation on Friday. That will be interesting. Its my first real job so I hope everything goes well. Oh, I have to tell you something that happened to me this week that just amazed me. Just this last Saturday, I went to Faith Mission to serve dinner and help put on a service. Well after dinner, we have some time to just talk and spend some time with the residents. Well, it was during this time that my heart shattered into pieces. I met a black guy by the name of Delane. I new that he had to be young, but I was shocked when he informed me that he was only 19. The longer I spoke with him, the more I was intrigued by his story. I learned that he was a foster child that never finished high school, who has the dream of becoming a nurse or maybe even a doctor. My heart overjoyed with happiness when he proceeded to tell me, that as of this Friday, would be back on his feet and would be working towards receiving his GED. He wants to then further his education and follow his dream of becoming a doctor. I really hope and pray that he will achieve his dream! Oh and guess what....Alex and I have now been dating two months! :) I'm so so so so so very happy right now! I'm on cloud nine lol ... Anyway, I hope that you are all doing well!

| so much has happened in my life lately! for starters, my best friend has reentered my life. so that is absolutely amazing because i have missed her so much! im super excited about spending time with her again and i also can't wait until we are at college together parting it up...lol oh, the 4H fair is coming up next week. i check in my project monday afternoon. and all next week is the judging for queen. eeek! i'm really excited but i'm nervous all at the same time. these girls are all so gorgeous and have great personalities that its intimidating. oh well, i will just do my best and be myself and see where that gets me. speaking of next week, two of my good friends leave for boot camp. they are heading off to the marines. i love them both and i pray that God will keep them safe! especially JT since he has taken this new MOS that may put him more towards the front lines where all the action takes place. i will miss him and nick lots! just recently i have been blessed with a spiritual renewal, which is something i have needed for a long time now. i'm so happy! i've learned so much lately! God has really opened my eyes to show me how great he is and has made clear some wonderful opportunities for me. As for Alex, i'm really really really happy! he always has a way of putting a smile on my face. he asked me today to give a testimony at faith mission next weekend and im kinda nervous. the topic is on hate and envy. i have an idea about what to talk about but i'm not sure how to pull it all together. i really do think though that God wants me to use a certain story in my life. but i'm kinda nervous to admit to this hatred/envy. maybe i'll leave more details on that one later once i figure out exactlky what i am speaking on. anyway, i hope you all have a great weekend. come see me next friday night at 6pm at the fairgrounds in the grandstand. i'll be in a green prom dress, walking across the stage with a huge smile plastered on my face. i am starting to think my face will be frozen like that from all this queen stuff. love you all! | | |
